The actual process of giving birth is never easy. It is indeed painful and yet a memorable experience for every mother. Bringing in a new life into the world could be rather painful and unpleasant. For some women, the trauma is short lived while it can easily become their worst nightmare for others. Though today, we are much better placed than what our grandmothers were, it still remains a daunting task, which could be passed by smoothly with a few simple aids and techniques. Now we know a number of approaches that can alleviate the excruciating pain and at times may also get completely rid of it. In an ideal setting, the goal should be to enjoy the experience and not endure. Only then the pregnant womenfolk can experience the true joy it is to create life from within them.

Hydro-birth or delivery is becoming a popular choice, which is based on the science of buoyancy. Being underwater at the time of labor helps reducing the pain during contractions. It enables the lower back muscles to be freed of the pressure in early as well as late stages of labor. One can chose to remain under water preliminarily to as long as throughout the process. Also being a natural way with minimum interference and potential harm to the baby, a birthing pool is definitely an ideal delivery system for those who have dread this moment of truth, all through their life.

Based on a similar principle is a TENS machine. This constitutes of electrode pads that pass electric signals to your lower back that counters the pain signals, thereby reducing the level of pain and muscular discomfort during labor. The current level can be regulated based on the stage of the labor pains experienced. Varied effects have been seen in different women from being extremely useful to a mild and minimum. The devise is usually available in hospitals to rent, but is also cheap for a personal purchase to make sure, there is one for you.

Entonox or a mixture of gas and air is one innovative way to relieve pain. This is a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen that is inhaled via a pipe whenever needed. It is simple, yet very effective, especially for deliveries with no complications. It can be seen as a distraction and not the actual elimination of pain stressors but it has the advantage of being free of any side effects or drawbacks that are associated with some of the pain reliving drugs.

Another way is to inject a pain relief drug such as epidural. This usually comes in an injection form and is directly injected into the lumbar region of the mother. The drug levels can be regulated and elevated as per subsequent needs but this usually needs to be done under the strict regulation of a doctor. While this drug can interfere with the movement, it restricts the entire process of giving birth to a lying down position. Some modified versions of the drug available now, also enable the mother to take a small stroll to relieve the discomfort.

Another pain relief drug, is Pethidine which is only stronger than the former which restricts its allowed dosage to two. This is one of the strongest pain-reducing alternatives being used today which is very effective but it is not ideal for a labor that lasts more than 6-8 hours. The drug has the capacity to leak into the baby, and though antidotes are now available, restricted use of the drug is suggested.

Ultimately, what works best for you would be more of a personal choice. Most experts suggest use of non invasive techniques as far as possible and avoiding the use of interfering drugs, unless absolutely necessary.

The tips on getting pregnant include tips on how to understand your reproductive cycle. Understand conception positions and paying good attention to your health. Pregnancy is the most satisfying experience in a woman's life and these tips will help you get to the most rewarding journey for you and your partner.

1. Know your most fertile time - In most women, ovulation occurs around 14 days prior to the next period. Thus if the cycle is about 28 days. Then day number 14 would be the most fertile. Similarly for a 30 day cycle it would be day 16.

2. Track your basal body temperature - You can purchase an relatively inexpensive basal thermometer. Use this to track and chart the elevations in your body temperature on getting up each day to find your most fertile time.

3. Watch for cervical mucus - During ovulation and fertile time, there is a egg white like vaginal discharge. By checking yourself daily, this can be the best indication of fertile time.

4. Have sex using the missionary position - The man on top position works best as it works with gravity to maximize the chance of sperm uniting with the egg and causing conception. Another way to improve the chances is to remain on your back after ejaculation with yours legs bent a few minutes. This is done to further maximize semen flow towards the uterus.

5. Eliminate smoking and alcohol - Doing this improves your overall health considerably. Also when you do become pregnant you will not expose the fetus to the harmful effects of alcohol and smoking.

6. You should take a high quality, broad spectrum vitamin/nutritional supplement. This helps fill the dietary gaps that everyone has. The body uses a lot of nutrients like antioxidants, amino acids etc which might not be supplied enough with your daily diet.

7. Adopt a healthy lifestyle - Healthy living is very important. Proper sleep, good diet, proper weight management, good exercise and managing stress will give you a healthy and a more positive experience. At the same time, it will reduce most problems of pregnant women.

And finally, enjoy your time with your partner. Your decision and desire to bring a child to this world will have more significance to you if you take good care of yourself and the unborn child.

Being pregnant is all about you, your better half and your future family, it becomes very difficult for pregnant women to think of anything else. This makes a woman quite anxious and stressful about how to announce the world about her new gift of joy. While chosing the appropriate time to tell everyone, one must know the advantages andthe disadvantages of proper timing. Moreover this is probably going to occur very few times in your lifetime,so make sure you announce it with a great and creative way.

Sharing news early

The good part about sharing this news early is that there is a lot of support from your family and friends. One can share this joy with everyone. Also while making decisions, you would get a lot of support and advice from people. Decisions like which medical professional to chose amongst seem much easier when you are discussing this openly with your loved ones.
One main disadvantage of breaking this news too soon is that there may be overwhelming advise. Another disadvantage is that you might not get enough alone time. A pregnant woman in the family is always the focus of attention. This may be really good for you, but could get to you sometimes. Also if one has another child, too much talk about the future addition to the family might make him feel bad, its especially important to chose the right time to tell the child.

Announcement decisions

A main decision when you just become pregnant is deciding whom all to tell. Telling your partner would make your family come closer and give you a greater sense of belonging and a special bond with the unborn child. Your parents should be the next to know, as they have already been through this and know a phetora of information and can guide in the right direction. A new born baby brings a family together and this should be a grand reason to celebrate.
You should always tell all your close friends and loved ones as they will be the backbone of support to you and the child. They will always be there for your ups and downs throughout this wonderful journey.

Right way to tell your family and friends

Obviously choosing the right way matters quite a lot, sending a mass email would probably steal your thunder away. A more creative and memorable way is always better, and lets not forget, everyone loves surprises. There are tons of creative ways to break this news to your partner or your family. You should always do something that you'll remember a lifetime. One of the most popular ways is to send a card with the chosen name (if any) and a sonogram.
If you have another child, telling them this news is also very important. One good way of doing this, especially if you are planning on telling them during holidays is to buy an extra present, and when your they ask who it is from, explain the new addition to your family.

Always remember, this is a journey of a lifetime, enjoy it throughly.
